Police to maintain Law and Order during X-mas

S.I Royal Police
It was very encouraging to learn of the statement made by the commissioner of Police Mr. John Lansley that Royal Solomon Islands Police will perform at their best to maintain law and order during the Christmas and New year season. The commissioner stated that Police have the maximum capabilities to maintain the general populace to achieve a safe and enjoyable celebration.

It has been recorded that people of Solomon Islands has experienced hectic incidents over previous festive seasons. The Christmas and new year periods especially, records large number of traffic accidents, fights, domestic violence and robbery. These tragedies have damaged the level of law and order and ignites chaos across the streets and backyards of our town and communities. The wave of distraction does not merely affects the law it even reaches homes, families and touches lives of people. Hence, it is a wise vision and the best obligation that the commissioner has thought of.

I believe the nation of Solomon Islands needs to feel, touch, live, and experience the once happy isles of the pacific. We have eager to return to the best position of time where our beloved nation is a home filled with friendly people, a time where there is freedom of movement among people, a period of harmony, love and peace that even kids cherished so much . Billion of thanks to the friendly pacific nations for provision of RAMSI which help to regain and atleast take us back to where we use to live, talk, eat, smile and die.

After reading the statement quoted by John Lansley, a very special wish came into mind. It was a wish I have never thought of or even dream of. But I think it does slips in at the perfect time and junction. I wish if our Police extends their maintenance of Law and order beyond the heights of Christmas festives 2012 .

I wish to register my special Christmas greetings to our beloved people of Solomon Islands, may we all celebrate, smile, and enjoy the fullest connotation of Christmas and New Year seasons. And oh finally, lest I forget, my 10 months old baby Tabunia say "Merry  X-mas and happy New Year 2013 to you".

TC Evan Hits USP

Tree fell off besides 8th Halls
TC Evan has badly affected parts of the beautiful environment of the University of the South Pacific Laucala campus in Suva. It has caused destruction to buildings, trees, palms and flowers around the campus.

Foundation Building
The buildings, walk ways and roads within the campus have been affected. The foundation building next besides the main entrance was one of the buildings being damaged. A branch of the rain tree next to it fell off and hit the roof of the building. Luckily, the roof was strong enough to with stand the fall hence, the distruction was not too serious. The other was a marriage quarter second hall of resident block. The Banyan tree (Abalolo) behind the block was uprooted by the strong wind and blew it over the block. These however, are not the only devastation Evan has imposed over Laucala campus.

If you take a walk through the campus, you would be surprised by the trashes. The walkways and roads inside the campus has been covered with branches and leaves. These debrises are lying all over the pathways therefore, causing a huge mess.

Although, Evan produced mass destruction with in the campus, there was no injuries recorded therefore, the families who left behind for the holiday break are all safed and sound.
