Empowering Education: Hon. Ramofafia’s Gift of Power to Onelafa Primary School Illuminates a Brighter Future!

 On Friday, 14th July, Onelafa Primary School in East Fataleka experienced a significant transformation as it was bestowed with a 3.5 KV generator. The generous donation from Fataleka MP was made by Mr. Jared Fakaia and Mr. Jayvin Satini, the esteemed Chairman of Zone 4 and Zone 5, respectively. The occasion marked a turning point for the school, as Mr. David Allan Meke, representing the institution, eloquently expressed that it was a new dawn of possibilities at Onelafa CHS.

 For the past five decades, the absence of    electricity had been an enduring challenge for the school administration. However, this long-standing obstacle has now been triumphantly overcome. The provision of the generator was made possible just a week after Hon. Ramofafia's visit to the constituency, demonstrating the government's swift response to urgent community needs. 

The impact of this generator extends beyond the walls of Onelafa Primary School, reaching other educational stakeholders within the school's catchment area. Mr. Meke emphasized that the arrival of the 3.5 KV generator would not only alleviate the school's challenges but also relieve the sector's budgetary constraints and address administrative difficulties encountered during the implementation of school grants over the past two decades.

Rex Ramofafia for recognizing and valuing the importance of education in his constituency. East Fataleka Road Development and Improvement Program

Timing

Everything has time - a time to sleep and a time to awake, a time to live and a time to die. A time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to walk and a time for a road trip. The road development and Improvement program initiated by the young and change maker MP for Fataleka, Hon. Rex Ramofafia for the people of east Fataleka, comes at a time when it is right. His leadership came at the right moment, the time where the people of Fataleka deserved to be heard. Four generations of leadership has gone and the people need to see, feel and experience change.

True Son

The young and change maker MP, Hon Rex Ramofafia was truly the son of Fataleka. He not only saw the struggle but he felt it with severe pain in his heart. He does not need to be informed or taught for he himself is a son who grew up in Fataleka. He knows what it is and how to do it. Becoming a leader for his own people is a responsibility that he bears with a heavy heart. He is the son of Fataleka and will put a smile on every face. 

 Economical benefits 

The east Fataleka road development and improvement program will bring economic benefits to the indigenous people of Fataleka. There are other advantages beside these economical aids - travel time, access to hospitals, and access to markets. The road is a key development infrastructure - a society relies on a good road system to transport its produce and people to access social services such as health services and markets. This is just a beginning, it will open up to more areas, stimulate economic and social development in our constituency.

Our Success

The success of the road development and improvement program does not come from anywhere nor is it the work of any one person but  it is through the unification of Fataleka. The unity being developed by the current leadership of Hon. Rex Ramofafia will continue to sow seeds of change and development. Third Wave Hits Fataleka Constituency

 

Unlike the shocking waves of COVID-19 that brought disaster, the people of Fataleka experienced a third wave of development that painted smiles on the face of many from their generous MP. Hon Rex Ramofafia. 

Fataleka Constituency is one of the underdeveloped constituencies compared to others in Malaita Province. The constituency accommodated ward 5 and 14 respectively. 

For the past 12 years, the people of Fataleka have never experienced any tangible developments nor did they witness any form of changes in the communities. The people were living in a period that could be best described as dark-ages. However, the current MP, Hon. Rex Ramofafia turns the balance upside down by sparkling lights into the dark-age.

On 29th September 2021, a third wave of shipment loaded with equipment, cements, fuels, bricks, heavy plant machinery, and other materials sailed across from Honiara to the constituency. According to records, this was the third occasion that shipment was sent with materials and supplies to support the development in the constituency. In comparison, the third shipment was far greater than the first two. 

With his vision “Leadership with Development'', Hon. Rex Ramofafia continues on to impact changes in the lives of the indigenous people of Fataleka. It was his dream to create change for his own people that they may live in peace, harmony and enjoy life. It was his dream to see people from Ata’a Township to simply board a truck from Auki wharf and ride down to Ata’a directly on a highway without even traveling by outboard motors again to reach home, as it has been the normal practice.  It was his dream to see on Sundays and Saturdays (for Sabbath keepers) Christians to sit comfortably in a permanent church house to praise and worship God without interference from strong wind and heavy downpour of rain. It was his dream to see people live in permanent homes that they may not be able to change the roof, post, walling of their homes over and over again. It was his dream to see the people of Fataleka transport their produce (Kava, betel nut, fish, copra, and cocoa) directly to Auki along a highway without taking  a long wait for outboard motors and trucks. It was his dream to transform Fataleka completely and rest the hardships on its shore. It was his dream to see the People of Fataleka regain its pride, it has long for, for the past years.

Let’s make Fataleka home again. Why not change Fataleka to be a better place where even tourists would love to go? And that the people of Fataleka may feel and experience the pride that late Saxon Talo has experienced and described in his old song ``Take me back to old Ata’a where the namuli river flows by”.
